While it only
has a population of 1,000,000; greater Auckland occupies the
largest land mass per head of population of any city in the world.
One could be forgiven, then, for not noticing the wonderful pockets
of Deco architecture scattered throughout this sprawling metropolis,
but take a look below to see just a few superb examples of the
style. While a number of these can be found in the central city,
many are located in a ring of suburbs which represented the city
boundary in the 1930s (these are now considered central city areas).
