Auckland Garden DesignFest
Departs Highwic, 9.15am
Led by Penny Cliffin, Senior Lecturer in Landscape Architecture at Unitec, and Anna-Maria
Morris, qualified landscape designer and active member of the GDSNZ Events Committee,
the tour will visit a carefully selected range of different gardens on each day, designed
to cater for a wide range of interests. Numbers are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Meeting at Highwic (pictured), 40 Gillies Avenue, Newmarket at 9am ready to depart at
9.15am each day, with free parking available at both Highwic and Newmarket School (7
Gillies Ave). The tour will return at 4pm to round off the day with a guided walk of this
heritage garden by Amy Hobbs, landscape architect. Those on the bus tour for both days
may choose either day to join the Highwic festivities. Amy will talk about the conservation
and management of heritage landscapes, including the restoration work planned for
Highwic’s garden.
Cost: $120 per day, with a 10% discount for those registering for both days. This includes
lunch, refreshments, coach travel, tour guides, entry fees and garden notes. For enquiries or

Please note: Due to the terrain of some gardens we are unable to accommodate delegates
with wheel chairs and walking frames. The tour may be varied or cancelled as circumstances
